Why does the SF Citadel require Membership?
In the Spring of 2006, in order to fulfill requirements for San Francisco business licensing, and more importantly, business insurance libability, SFCitadel evolved into a Membership Organization with low yearly dues. Very similar to local men's community clubs, SF Citadel has members fill out a basic information and waiver form, then provides a membership card that is good generally for twelve months from the inception date.
Membership dues are ony $10 (ten dollars) for a year's membership.
Please note, that you do not need to be a member to come to our educational programs.
Membership is necessary for those individuals wishing to attend Citadel Open Parties, Citadel Sponsored Theme Nights, and most events that are not designated as Private Events. For Private Events, where an individual, group or organization has booked SF Citadel outright, there are no membership requirements as that is covered in the Private Rental Agreement.
Membership Cards will be required for entry, beginning 2010
We now have over four thousand members and it has become difficult to look up membership numbers at the door during events. To speed things up we are discontinuing this process. As of January 1st, 2010 you will be required to show a current SF Citadel membership card when you come to play parties.
If you don’t have your current Citadel membership card with you at the door, here are a couple ways you can enjoy the party:
- Have a friend who has a current SF Citadel membership card with them guest you in for the party.
- If you’ve left your card at home and its current, you can buy a $5.00 weekend membership pass.
- Renew your membership for $10.00 and always have it with you when you come to play at SF Citadel.
Thank you for your understanding and thanks to the many members who have been bringing their cards with them recently. This helps the cashiers and door volunteers to get everyone in quickly so that we can all have a good time.
We thank all our Members for supporting us, and hope that you have a great experience at SF Citadel.
